A NEW Supernatural Western movie in NorCal!

A Blood Moon Rising is an ambitious, up and coming supernatural, horror, western film created by Morgan Quaid & Justin W. Smith. This feature film is set in an old western town called Celeb’s Folly and is full of the howling of wolves and the promise bloodshed. Morgan is the writer/creator & co-producer & Justin is the Director, co-creator and co-producer of the film. Justin grew up in the 70s and 80s watching horror, sci-fi, and spaghetti westerns.

“The Old West is steeped in blood and desperation, and the people of Caleb’s Folly are about to discover that the darkness has teeth.” Said Justin W. Smith. Justin has made multiple action films, documentaries and horror short films, but western films are his favorite movie genre. The film is set in the year 1889 and features a young alchemist struggling to resurrect the fortunes of Celeb’s Folly by discovering a means of transmuting common stone into silver.

In the hopes of getting out from under the oppressive thumb of the town’s cruel mayor, Cole Blackwood (played by Grid Margraf), the alchemist strikes a deal with a rival power broker which goes south quickly putting the alchemist’s young family in jeopardy and threatening to uncover a family secret and spark an all-out war between Blackwood and Pickett.

If that weren’t enough, as the tensions build in this small town, Doc Shephard (played by Todd Risby) arrives with his two stalwart companions, Dottie (played by Bunny Stewart), and Pearlie (played by Harley Ford), the monster hunters known as The Silver Hand. The small band of gun slinging strangers are far more than meet the eye and have been hearkened to Caleb’s Folly by a mysterious benefactor to hunt down an unknown evil which stalks the night. Doc and his companions soon find themselves at the heart of a violent struggle for survival where the line between good and evil becomes blurred.

The cast of A Blood Moon Rising includes (Danny Hassel, A Nightmare on Elm Street 4 & 5), Brinke Stevens (Slumber Party Massacre) and Beatrice Boepple (A Nightmare on Elm Street 5).
